The Eem Triplin debut album that came out on Sunday is really crisp. It reminds me of a lot of Tyler the Creator's more Neptunes influenced work but with vocals delivered like someone like 454 (but not as pitched up). Has some Clams Casino placements which are a pretty rare sight (think the last one was on the CLIP track on JT's album).

Chicken P is one of the hottest rappers out of Milwaukee right now, that tape is out apparently there's a Pi'erre Bourne beat.

Smif-n-Wessun are NY rap legends, 9th Wonder executive produced the new album and it features Prodigy, Pharoahe Monch, Conway the Machine, Sean Price, Buckshot + more

all the singles for Teller Bank$ & Wino Willy's EP have been really good, it features Ghais Guevara.

Papo2oo4 & Subjxct 5 are a pretty reliable rapper-producer duo from NJ who've worked with rappers like Wiki. I think this blurb on their 2022 tape Ballerific (from rap twitter public enemy #1) does a pretty good job describing their appeal:

Ballerific sounds like it could have been premiered on a Smack DVD 20 years ago. Papo2oo4’s nonchalant aggression, which includes shades of 50 Cent’s early mixtape run and a swagger inspired by ByrdGang-era New York, is laid down on kinetic beats by Subjxct 5 that are nostalgic but fresh. True to the tape’s vibe, the Elizabeth, New Jersey rapper-producer duo sprinkle the project with snippets of 2000s Jay-Z, 5o, and Wayne. Of the 13 tracks, I can imagine quite a few being in my rotation all year, including “Discuss It” which has a mad futuristic-sounding Subjxct beat; “Space Jam,” where Papo busts out an Uptown-indebted melody; and “Penny # 1,” which has some A1 pop culture references: “Me and Sub on the beat, Pacino and De Niro in Heat.”

If that sounds interesting, their new tape WINNERTIME 2.0 is out already and features UK weed rapper Lord Apex.

alt-rap duo Paris Texas have a lot of hype behind them from places like Pigeons & Planes, they're opening for Tyler the Creator this summer and have worked with artists like Kenny Mason and Teezo Touchdown. Check it out if you fw that stuff.

Stockton, California has one of the most promising trap scenes on the West Coast right now, this week two of the most prominent members of rap crew EBK HotBoiiz dropped singles: EBK Jaaybo's "The Biggest G" (celebrating his freedom, you can read a jailhouse interview with him by Steven Louis in Passion of the Weiss) and EBK Young Joc's "Mr. Impossible". Fresno's Yvnng Ecko has produced some of the biggest hits out of this scene (including Jaaybo's "Boogieman"). He just dropped his second album Sound of the Streets with features from all over California.
